IV INTERNATIONAL AND MULTIDISCIPLINARY CONGRESS ON THE ANCIENT WORLD

TRAVEL, TRADE, AND EXCHANGES IN ANTIQUITY

Dear colleague,

We are writing to inform you about the upcoming IV International and Multidisciplinary Congress on the Ancient World (CIMMA), which will take place on October 23, 24, and 25, 2025, in the town of Colindres (Cantabria), a collaborating site of the UNED Cantabria Associate Center, with the possibility of online participation.

The International and Multidisciplinary Congress on the Ancient World (CIMMA) is a space for the exchange of scientific knowledge, bringing together national and international researchers. Their work, focused on the civilizations of Antiquity (Near East, Egypt, Greece, and Rome), spans disciplines such as Archaeology, Art, Law, History, Philology, Literature, Philosophy, and Anthropology.

The chosen theme for 2025 is “Travel, Trade, and Exchanges in Antiquity,” broadly understood to allow for approaches from any discipline. Furthermore, the congress welcomes papers not directly related to the proposed theme, provided their main focus pertains to the Ancient World.

The congress distinguishes between participants (who present a paper, in person or online) and attendees (who attend the congress in person or online but do not present a paper). Both groups can participate, during the scheduled dates, in the parallel sessions where participants will present their research, with a maximum of 15 minutes per presentation.

All information regarding this event, as well as accommodation options for those wishing to attend in person, can be found on the congress website: https://multiweb.uned.es/w39943/presentacion

The registration period, for both participants and attendees, will open on June 1, 2025, and remain open until September 30 of the same year.

The organizing committee has set up an email address to handle all congress-related inquiries: cimma@santander.uned.es

We look forward to your participation and encourage you to share this event with your colleagues. Best regards,

The Organizing Committee
